Alexandra Corning’s program of research is aimed at identifying and explaining especially the social-cognitive mechanisms underlying the development and maintenance of eating- and body-related problems, particularly in adolescent girls. Her work focuses primarily on sociocultural factors and family factors, including intervention development work targeting the mother-daughter relationship and how mothers can become positive change agents for their daughters.
